Why We Are Different

Unlike other area hospices, there are no financial requirements to recieve our services. HCM is unique in that it does not charge the client or family for any services, medication, equipment, or supplies. If insurance is available for the client, hospice bills the insurance company directly and accepts reimbursement as payment in full. If no insurance is available, we provide the same services at no cost to the client or family. This service is possible through insurance reimbursements and the generous support of the community by way of memorials, donations, and fundraisers.

Hospice Services

The services offered by Hospice of Central Michigan include:

Hospice Home Care:

Caring for people with an incurable illness in the warmth and comfort of their own home is the heart of our care and philosophy. Services are available to the patient, caregiver, and family. Hospice of Central Michigan also contracts with several local nursing homes and Adult Foster Care Homes and can provide complete hospice services in any setting.

Hospice Inpatient Care:

Typically, the staff of Hospice of Central Michigan can manage any symptom or procedure in the home. However, we recognize that some patients are more comfortable or feel more secure in a hospital setting, and we continue our care in the hospital.

Respite Care:

Caregivers may need a break at times to attend to other areas in their lives. Hospice of Central Michigan offers highly trained volunteers for short term respite care as well as a variety of other supportive services. In the case of longer term respite needs, a five day respite stay in a hospital or a local nursing home is available.

Bereavement Counseling:

Hospice of Central Michigan offers individal greif counseling as well as support groups for children, teens, and adults. All groups are facilitated by therapists trained in grief counseling, and are free of charge to the public.

Caregiver Support Group :

Available to anyone taking care of a person of any age, with any illness, for any reason, who needs minimum or maximum care.

Grief at Work Program :

When a coworker dies, it is difficult for the entire company. Hospice of Central Michigan offers grief support to local companies to assist workers in resolving the loss.
