Community Bereavement Center
The Importance of Grief
Grief is the ebb and flow of our emotional, physical, and spiritual connection that is felt to have been severed by death. To grieve is to redefine our lives, our purpose, and our beliefs in a world that does not stand still.
Death can happen at any age, from birth to old age. It can be an expected death, like a terminal illness, or a sudden death, such as a heart attack, car accident, miscarriage, or suicide. Sometimes we are involved in the death of someone through an accident or a war. Death often leaves us with more questions and emotions than we are prepared to handle.
The Bereavement services through Hospice of Central Michigan are offered to all community members regardless of whether hospice services were used. Our services include individual, family, and group counseling. We work with all ages. Counseling is offered to individuals at their home, our office, or at school for a child.
The Community Bereavement Center at Hospice of Central Michigan is committed to providing the education, resources, and support needed to continue the journey of life through the experiences of grieving.
